Rules & Regulations for 10 km Fun Run
-
Prize winners must report to prize-giving zone and await further instructions or verification. In case a runner fails to do so, the Organiser may donate the cash prize to charity.

All prize winners must present their identification document (Malaysian IC or Passport) for verification in order to collect the prize money.

Any disputes or appeals must be made with 30 minutes of the published results or immediately after prize presentation; whichever is earlier. Failing which the Organiser have the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals after.

All participants who successfully complete the 10km Fun Run before the cut off time will receive a souvenir upon presentation of their RACE number to officials.

The top 50 finishers in the 10km Fun Run will receive a special Finishers’ Medal.

All prize money, medals and souvenirs must be collected on event day and no requests will be entertained thereafter.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Rules & Regulations for 6 km Walkathon

This is a non-competitive event and there are no prizes for top finishers.

All participants are only allowed to walk in this category.

All souvenirs must be collected on event day and no requests will be entertained thereafter.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a souvenir upon completing the run.
Rules & Regulations for 6 km Zombie Fun Run

This is a non-competitive event and there are no prizes for top finishers.

All souvenirs must be collected on event day and no requests will be entertained thereafter.

Participants should be a registered student from UNIMAS with an ACTIVE status.

Participants are prohibited from assaulting/attacking the Event crew members (including the “Zombies”) or officers throughout the race.
General Rules & Regulations

“Run @ Samarahan Carbon Free Morning” 10km Fun Run, 6km Walkathon, and 6km Zombie Fun Run, 30th November 2014 (“the Event”) is organized by “Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar 2013/2014” (“the Organiser”) of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (“UNIMAS”),.

By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) or service(s) and/or participate in any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any activity(ies) involving the Organiser and the event sponsors (“the Sponsors”), the individual is deemed to have given written permission for the Organiser and the Sponsors to collect, analyze, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the individual, any personal information relating to that individual as may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for its programmes, planning, data- processing, and statistical or risk-analysis, research, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions. The Organiser, UNIMAS and the Sponsors declare by virtue of being the event owner or sponsor, they can use services of third parties.

Registration for the race is only confirmed upon payment and issuance of an official receipt.

The participant agrees to: (i) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about the participant contained in the registration form; (ii) maintain the security of the participant’s identification; and (iii) maintain and promptly update the personal information to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organiser may contact the participant from time to time by email. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the participant.

If the participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or if the Organiser has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the participant’s registration without any refund of registration fee.

The Organiser will neither entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.

The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations of the Event from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the sole authority to interpret and in so doing, the Organiser will take into account the interest of all the affected participants.

The Organiser reserves the right to call off/ cancel the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case the Organiser will make reasonable effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. If the Event is cancelled, there shall be no refund of fees paid unless the Organiser deems fit to give a refund. The Organiser, UNIMAS or the Sponsors shall not be liable for any other losses or inconvenience caused.

There will be no fee refund if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e.due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser and which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the event.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any impending hazards in the running of the event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such situations, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. The Organiser, UNIMAS or the Sponsors shall not be held responsible /liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.

Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure on the participants' safety, participants run at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising from training for or during participation in the race. Participants are strongly encouraged/advised to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Race Day.

The form on the reverse side of the participants' RACE number must be completed in full and accurately. Participants must attach the assigned RACE number on the front of their running attire. Participants who are not wearing a RACE number will be taken off the course by security officers/officials or route marshals.

Participants shall walk/run carefully and with due regard to the safety of other participants and other road users throughout the race.
-
A participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Race Director, Marshal/ Referee and/or Security Officer.
-
Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the race route.

Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.

The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to the Sponsors.

The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry without giving any reason and notice.
-
Participants are strictly not allowed to transfer their race entries to another party or change race categories after their registrations are confirmed.
-
A participant who commences to run before the actual start time of his/her registered race will be disqualified. (Please refer to start time of each race).
-
Participants who do not start within 20 minutes from the respective flag off time for each category will be disqualified, and for safety reasons, may not be allowed to start.

Participants can only participate individually for the event. There are a total of four categories in the Event: (1) 10km Fun Run- Men’s Division (participants must be aged 16 years and above as of 30th November 2014) (2) 10km Fun Run: Women’s Division (participants must be aged 16 years and above as of 30th November 2014) (3) 6km Walkathon: Open Division (Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult aged 18 years and above as of 30th November 2014) (4) 6km Zombie Fun Run: UNIMAS Student (participants must be a registered active student of UNIMAS as of 30th November 2014)

Prizes for winners are as stated in the prize list on the official Event poster. They are subject to change at any time by the Organiser.The Organiser reserves the right to replace any winner if he or she is found to be disqualified.

The starting times for each category are as follows: (a) 6 km Walkathon: 6.30 am (b) 10 km Fun Run: 7.00 am (c) 6km Zombie Fun Run: 8.00 am

The cut off times for each category are as follows: (a) 10 km Fun Run: 3 hours (b) 6 km Walkathon: 3 hours (c) 6 km Zombie Fun Run: 2 hours

For Participants who are unlikely to finish the race within three hours from the first flag off, race officials will divert the aforesaid Participants, at designated diversion points along the race route, to a shorter race route towards the finish gantry. For their own safety and to avoid being caught in between live traffic, Participants must obey as instructed, or else they will be pulled off the race course immediately. Certificate will NOT be issued to the aforesaid Participants.

Registration can be done at registration booths by the Organiser. Exact time and venue of the registration booths can be found at the Official Facebook Page of the Event.

The entry fee for each category are as follows: (a) 10 km Fun Run: RM 45.00 (b) 6 km Walkathon: RM 12.00 (c) 6km Zombie Fun Run: RM 12.00

All Participants must collect their Race Pack at the designated collection location within the collection period, of which details will be stated on the Official Facebook Page. If Participants are unable to collect their Race Pack in person, they may empower a duly authorised representative in accordance with the procedure detailed on the Official Page.

The Race Pack collection dates are 27th, 28th and 29th November 2014. This can be subject to change.Venue for pick-up: BHEP Level G, UNIMAS Time: 12.30 am to 7.00 pm (27th, 28th & 29th November 2014)

Late collection will not be entertained and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused, due to Participants’ inability to collect their Race Pack. For avoidance of doubt, the Organiser is not obliged to extend the collection period or to ensure that a Participant receives his or her Race Pack. At all times, it is the responsibility of the Participant to collect his or her Race Pack during the collection period. Race Packs not collected during the Collection Period will be deemed to be unwanted, and the Organiser shall be at liberty to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly.
